on behalf of our organization Dominican American Communitarian Association Inc NJ, we are inviting our XI Annual Community Health Fair, to be held on Sunday June 24, 2012, in time of 8am- 3pm.

As in previous years our association hopes to have their presence and support offering medical Screening services, education, & health prevention during this year we are celebrating our eleven year anniversary , now much larger in services provide and participating organizations.

Their support now more than ever necessary.

Come participate & interact with over 2000, people over 150 Health Professionals and representatives from various hospitals, professional organizations which have already confirmed participation.

Nuestro Programa de feria de la Salud "Decide to be Healthy", es un programa fundado desde el año 1992, por nuestra asociacion, la asociacion Hispana de Profesionales de la Salud ,Inc NY, el cual ofrece examenes medicos, Procedimientos medicos, conferencias medicas, talleres, demostraciones.

Este programa se ofrece en Escuelas, Iglesias, en las calles,en centro Comunitarios, dirigido a pacientes que no tiene seguro, pacientes con escasos recursos, o no tienen acceso a las agencias de salud de su area.

Nuestra asociacion siempre estimula a nuestros miembros para ofrecer estos servicios, completamente voluntario,[gratis], el cual le agradece su dedicacion y su tiempo, en su compromiso con nuestra comunidad en necesidad de recibir atenciones medicas, el agradecimiento siempre a nuestros profesionales por este apoyo, el cual nos premite cumplir una parte de nuestra mision como entidad sin fines de lucro, en devolver en parte nuestras preparacion.

Para poder cumplir los multiples servicios de examenes medicos, nuestra institucion acepta donaciones de comerciantes y profesionales colaboradores a los cuales le agradecemos, infinitamente, gracias a ellos muchos programas podemos cumplirlos.

Our Program Health Fair "Decide to Be Healthy" is a program funded from the year 1992, our association, the Hispanic Association of Health Professionals, Inc NY, which provides medical tests, medical procedures, medical conferences, workshops, demonstrations.

This program is offered in schools, churches, streets, community centers, targeting uninsured patients, patients with poor or no access to health agencies in your area.

Our association always encouraged our members to provide these services, completely voluntary, [Free], which is grateful to them dedication and time, in its commitment to our community in need of medical care, always thank our employees for this support, which we are dropping down to meet a part of our mission as a nonprofit entity, to return in part our preparation.

Dacanji Quienes somos que hemos logrado ?

To: Empower the Dominican Community through C.E.D.A[ Cultura, Education, Development & Advancement.
Dacanji is a community –Based organization located n the City of Perth Amboy New Jersey.
That s emerging as a leader in reframing the way the Latino community addresses and manages issues of Health education and cultural preservation .
This founding members consist of Dominican –American professionals of Diverse professions.
Who felt a need to establish an organization that would advance the concept of community participation and empowerment from the Latino community And more specifically the Dominican Population using educational and cultural –oriented programs as effective tools to encourage greater involvement and intervention.

DACANJ Genesis took place in 2000 when started to reflect to reflect on and assess the needs of a growing Dominican population. According to public statistics and supportive services used by Dominican –Americans in the city of Perth Amboy approximately 52 % make up the population base in the city. Currently the services they need are paramount to what s actually being provided by other community agencies.

Just in the last five years The Dominican American community has grown significantly where in approximately 18,000 residents of Dominican Ancestry either use major services in the city but Short changed when t comes to benefiting from community services and program. Understanding that only through the process of education cultural preservation and Health education that the community can demand an audience,
Dacanji has embarked on a process of assessment and strategic planning to confront the issues. Consequently on a process of assessment and strategic planning to confront these issues.
Consequently the organizations has prioritized areas of importance that have materialized into action –Based programs that have swayed their interest of the public and demos trade overwhelming results.
In order to formalize the volunteer efforts of individuals interested in Addressing these needs… DACANJI Formally incorporated and subsequently acquired their 501[c] 3 status

Seeks Fill three major gaps in the area of responsive services to Latino Families and

Their Children, They include Providing Families with a nurturing environment that promotes after School, Structured activities for Youths, Cross Cultural events that Highlight volunteerism in the Community, And Education.
Annual Community Health Fair Since 2001, DACANJI Has worked in close Partnership with Health services providers, and Community based organizations of Common interest.

To bring the community accurate and Culturally Appropriate information and resources that targets the Perth Amboy Community.

The Health Fair is a Forum for sharing of information, With the incorporation of actual Health Screening and Demonstrations.

Dacanji: is a regional member of Latino Leadership Alliance,In New Jersey, We are members of the conference on Dominican Affairs, [CODA], And Member of the Coalition of Organizations Dominican City Perth Amboy.

Achievements:

Dacanji, established 12th years ago, a program of prevention and health educacion with the slogan, "Decide to be Health" Annual Community Health Fair.

We are founders of the First Dominican Book Fair & Latino of New Jersey.

We are Co-founders of the Latino Cultural Festival in Perth Amboy,In Celebration Heritage Hispanic, New Jersey, in conjunction with the Casa de la Cultura de Navarrete, Mr.Jose Bonilla, Director.

Dancanji, first introduced in the city of Perth Amboy, establishing a JPD Bust, in homage to the founder of the Dominican Republic General Juan Pablo Duarte.

Today in Perth Amboy, have a Juan Pablo Duarte Square, at the initiative of DACANJI, with Dominican Coalition of Perth Amboy.
