Odontologos, o dentistas Latino-Hispanos, son bienvenidos a este VIII Congreso medico el cual sera celebrado este Domingo, 19 de Mayo, 2013,en el Auditorium Principal del Hospital Linconl, del Bronx, NY, desde la 8am, hasta la 5pm, durante el mismo intervendran 3 distinguidas Odontologas, para hablar como preparar el Board de Odontologia en USA, ademas se hablara sobre la "Etica en odontologia", a ser presentado por al Dra.Amarilis Jacobo, Dra.Ellys Fernandez,Dra.Angelina Adames" Expreso al Odontologa Dra.Alicia Difó, Coordinadora de la seccion cientifica-Academica de los Odontologos.

BIO-DRA.LUZ CUESTAS,DDS.
La Dra.Luz es nativa de Bogota colombia, graduada de la prestigiosa Pontificia Universidad Javeriana perteneciente a la orden de los Jesuistas ,en Bogotá Colombia, Graduandose de Doctora en Odontologia Año 1980.
En su primeros años de ejercicio trabajo para el ejercito Nacional de Colombia, y para el sistema nacional de salud de Colombia.
La Dra.Cuestas, debido a la tensa situacion politica, la cual imperaba en ese momento,en su pais, de Colombia, se vio en la necesidad de aplicar para un status de Asilo politico en USA, luego de vencer la barrera del idioma, trabajar como asistente dental, y profesora de educacion basica,en New York, pudo ingresar al programa de Odontologia, de NYU, Donde logró convalidar de nuevo su titulo de Odontologia.
Obteniendo licencia para practicar Odontologia en ls Estados de New York, Pennsyvania, La Florida ,Connecticut .
La Dra.Cuestas, siempre ha sido pasionada con el ejercicio de su profession sobre todo con su envolmiento hacia la coumunidad nuestra dictando conferencias, y participando en diferentes ferias anual de la salud, en Diferentes, Ciudades & Estados de USA.
Actualmente la Dra.Cuestas realiza una practica muy exitosa en Long Island ,New York.

BIO-Dra.Luz Cuestas
Dr. Luz Cuestas is a Dentist that was born and raised in Colombia, (South America) she is an only child and was raised by two very hard working parents and her elementary and high school education were completed in a very recognized boarding school in her home city of Bogota.
Once she finished her secondary education she pursued her dream of becoming a Dentist in Xaverian University, a Jesuit university that has been alma mater to some of the most important figures of Colombia. She received her DDS in 1980 and soon after started working for the Colombian national army and The National Health Care System. 
She worked in Colombia throughout the 1980’s but due to the political conflict that surrounded her country, she seeked political asylum in the US in the early 1990’s. She came in a critical situation and as a newcomer she began to reinforce her English skills and seeking a way to validate her degree here in the US.
Due to the circumstances, achieving this was not a short path, nor was it an easy one due to the fact that she not only had to care for herself but also for her 3 young children. While seeking the American Dream, she worked as a Dental Assistant and as a teacher in the Hempstead Public School System. During this time she was not only a teacher, she was also a student because she had to study for the Dental Board Examination and the TOEFL. After many struggles and sacrifices she was accepted in NYU dental school in the advanced standing program in 1999.
As a single mother and student she had many struggles to achieve her success she had to give up many things, one of them was her children; which she had to send away to Colombia to be taken care for while she completed her professional program in NYU.
Once she completed her degree in dentistry she was licensed not only in New York but she also successfully seeked licensing in many other states like Florida, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
She has always been passionate about her profession and has always had the goal to be involved in community service and selflessly provide her services and when needed by sharing her knowledge.
Today she has the honor of having 3 college educated children all who have seeked bachelors in Biology and her older son is following her footsteps; he is also a Dentist and is currently specializing in orthodontics.
Today Doctor Cuestas runs a very successful practice in Long Island New York
