El pasado Doomingo 20 de Octubre, 2013, fue celebrado el XXIII ,Symposium Medico-Dental, el Double Tree Hotel, de Fort Lee, New Jersey, el cual estuvo dedicado a la memoria del Dr.Andres Emilio Peralta Cornielle,Nativo de Pimentel, Republica Dominicana, Considerado Padre de la Bioetica en la Republica Dominicana.

Breve Datos Biograficos del Dr.Peralta Cornielle

El Dr.Andews Emilio peralta Cornielle, se Graduado de Dr.en Medicina en la Universidad de Santo Domingo, Hoy UASD,en el AñO 1955,realizo entrenamiento de Radiologia en el Elmhurst City Hospital en New York, tambien relaizo entrenamiento den Rdiotwrpaia en el Hopsital Oncologioc Gonzalez Martinez, y el City Hopsital de San Juan ,Puerto Rico.

En la Republica Dominicana, se radico en al Ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros, Junto a su esposa, tambien Medico Especialista en Patologia, Dra.Victoria Sanchez Pujols.

El Dr.Peralta, laboro 34 Años, como radiologo en la clinica Corominas, de Santiago de lso Caballeros.
Fue Director Medico Honorifico del Intituto Oncologioc del Cibao, por 47 Años.

Fue Profesor de la Universidad Antonoma de Santo Domingo[UASD], Tambien de la Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra de Santiago de Los Caballeros, en la cual llego a ocupar la Posicion de Director de la Escuela de Medicina, y Vicerector academico.

El Dr.Peralta fue profesor de Bietica en al Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago.

En el año 1997, fue delcardo "Maestro de la medicina" la distincion mas alta, la cual otorga el Colegio Medico Dominicano.

Fue Fundador en el 1992,del comite nacional de etica, la primera de ese genero, creada en la Republica Dominicana.
UTESA, La Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago, estsbleció una catedra conferencia en Bioetica en su nombre "Dra.Andres Peralta Cornielle", Tambien la Universidad O& M Estableció una catedra de Bioetica a su nombre.

Dictó conferencias, Cursos, y ademas logro fundar comites de etica Medica, en mas de 20 Paises, en todos los continentes.

"La medida dela grandeza de una vida no esta en la riqueza de su legado, la fama de su nombre, ni la abundancia de sus amigos, pero si en la diferencia que esa vida hizo en la vida de los demas. El hombre verdaderamente grande es aquel que deja el mundo, y a quienes lo habitan, en mejor condicion que como lo encontro"

With great grief the Inter American College of Radiology receives the news of the departure of our colleague and friend, Doctor and Professor Andrés Emilio Peralta Corneille in his house, in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.

He was a distinguished radiotherapist and he was the medical director of the Oncologic Institute of Cibao in Santiago de Chile, he was one of the foundations of the Dominican Society of Radiology and the Inter American College of Radiology, which he constantly supported.

We should also remember the main role he played in the organization and promotion of successful medical meetings in the Caribbean: the first one was a course of radiology that he organized in Santo Domingo together with the then President of CIR, doctor Francisco Arredondo. The second one was called First Meeting of the Caribbean, in the city of Santo Domingo, during the presidency of Doctor Carlos R Giménez; and the third one, called Third Meeting of the Caribbean, which I coordinated with him in the city of San Juan de Puerto Rico.

His interest in bioethics started in the 1980s, and eventually he became an international expert in the field. He was acknowledged by the Unesco, with which he collaborated for several decades, he traveled to many countries around Latin America and the world writing, teaching and participating in international forums.

For many years, Andrés Peralta Corneille was member of the former Committee of Ethics and Statutes which due to his effort became the current Committee of Bioethics of the CIR, thus leaving as legacy the Code of Ethics of the CIR and the Code of Good Governance, which he wrote in Medellin together with Doctor Restrepo and the CIR’s board of directors. But Andrés was much more than this: he was a sensible professional, a great gentleman and a colleague who distinguished the people who treated him with his kind and affectionate manner.

The best way to honor him is to live according to the principles he left us, which were the reason of his struggle, and transmit them to our colleagues and students so they are not forgotten.
