In the mid-80s, established the division of pediatric pulmonology at the New Jersey Medical School/Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center. The CF Center soon received from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation a Level III recognition – the first and highest accreditation in New Jersey. This Center gave New Jersey residents afflicted with CF the first time opportunity for the very first time to participate in clinical trials.

In the early 90s, participated in a three – CF Center study to evaluate a novel sweat collector system, which soon got approval by the CF Foundation and is now the most commonly used method worldwide.

Autor de Libro:textbook Pulmonary Manifestations of Pediatric Diseases

A few years ago, became the Leading Editor of a textbook Pulmonary Manifestations of Pediatric Diseases the first book focused on diagnosing and treating the respiratory complications of non-pulmonary diseases ever published. It has received glowing reviews (see attached). My book became a best-selling resource in pulmonology, and I have donated the royalty proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Center at the Hospital de Ninos de El Salvador – my home country.
The editorial board of to prestigious, international journal, Paediatric Respiratory Reviews invited me to serve as Guest Editor for a symposium, rendering tribute to my subspecialty. After several months of collaborative efforts among many renowned authors from eminent institutions of higher learning (Hopkins, Stanford, Duke, NYU, CHOP, etc), "Pulmonary Complications of Paediatric Systemic Disorders: A Celebration of Paediatric Pulmonology" , published in January 2012. (see attached).

In September 2012, the prestigious Arnold P. Gold Foundation recognized me as a Humanistic Doctor. This Foundation established this honor to give patients and family members the opportunity to pay tribute publicly to physicians when they feel the care they have received demonstrates exemplary skill, sensitivity, and compassion (see attached). I have contributed to the local papers in ES & NJ with topics of humanistic interes

Lastly, one of my patients rendered a recognition to my dedication with a brief tribute: "My doctor, my friend, MY HEALTH HERO! This article appears in Health Monitor at Home magazine Summer 2013

Certainly, these accomplishments could not have been possible, without the lessons learned from so many wonderful patients, families, mentors, colleagues, and friends. I am deeply grateful to all.
