Jacobo, Amarilis., New York, 2015. Dr. Amarilis Jacobo is one of the most respected leaders of the Dominican Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental community. Her influence extends to many other ethnic groups within Dentistry. Dr. Jacobo is extremely loyal to the ADA and NYSDA and works tirelessly to promote organize Dentistry and the profession as a whole. Dr. Jacobo is working with New York State Dental Association to ensure the continuation and development of New York State’s Medical program; the primary vehicle through which the underserved population receives Dental services.

Dr. Jacobo is a General Dentist in a private practice. She received her Dental training at the University of Central East, San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, with post-graduate training from New York University. At the National level Dr Jacobo is President Elect of the Hispanic Dental Association. On the state level, member of the House of Delegate, member of the Council of Ethic Committee, a member of Empire Dental Political Action Committee,  and the Medicaid Reference Committee. She is President Elect of the Bronx County Dental Society and Board member of the Spanish American Medical Dental Society.

Alumni of the ADA Institute of Diversity leadership. Chair of The New York Chapter of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Fellow of the American College of Dentistry.  Pass President of the Dominican Dental Association.

Dr Jacob is very committed on doing community services. Locally she visits Elementary Dental Schools giving Oral Hygiene on Give Kids Smile Day and to High Schools on career days. Since 1992 she has visited different part of the Dominican Republic providing Dental services.

She adopted Astin Jacobo Middle School  at Ingenio Consuel, San Pedro de Macoris with the project” Education free of Cavities” by building a dental clinic on the school ground

Most importantly, Dr. Jacobo is a mentor and role model to young Dentists of all nationalities.
