DOHCAF Announces 2016 Chairman’s Award Winners
Coral Gables, Florida, April 4, 2016 .The Dominican Health Care Association of Florida (DOHCAF) has announced the winners of its 2016 Chairman’s Awards. This year’s recipients are Baptist Health International, Vitas Health Care, and University of Miami Hospital.
The Chairman’s Award is given to individuals or organizations that have excelled in the provision of care, treatment, or services to underserved or minority populations, or who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of the practice of medicine and service to the community.
In announcing the winners Dr. Amadeo Cabral, chairman of the Board of Directors of DOHCAF stated «We are very proud of the work these organizations are doing on behalf of the community and are beyond thrilled to have this opportunity to recognize their work.»
Additionally, Orange Health Care will receive the Pioneer Award for its groundbreaking work in developing one of the most nationally important and successful accountable Care Organization (ACO) projects.
«These organizations have been a partner and supporter of DOHCAF since our inception in 2010 and have collaborated both with our physicians and the organization in a variety of projects that advance the practice of medicine. These collaborations have been instrumental in supporting DOHCAF’s mission,» stated Daisy J. Baez, Executive Director of DOHCAF.
The award presentations will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, during DOHCAF’s 6th Annual «Noche en Honor al Médico Dominicano» Gala to be held at the Red Fish Grill at Matheson Marina in Coral Gables, Florida.
