Mr. Tirso Pina is a highly esteemed individual whose contributions and dedication to the Washington Heights community and the field of healthcare have made a profound impact. Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Tirso’s journey to becoming a respected figure in the healthcare industry began with his pursuit of knowledge at the prestigious Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), where he obtained a degree in Biostatistics.

After completing his education, Tirso ventured to the United States, settling in the vibrant neighborhood of Washington Heights, New York. He quickly became an integral part of the community, actively engaging with residents and advocating for their rights to better housing. Over the past four decades, Tirso has tirelessly organized tenants, empowering them to fight for improved living conditions and access to essential services.

Tirso’s passion for ensuring equitable healthcare services for all has been a central focus throughout his career. He recognized the need for improved health services in the New York area and made it his mission to address this crucial issue. Through his unwavering determination and dedication, Tirso has spearheaded numerous initiatives, advocating for better healthcare resources and facilities.

In addition to his community work, Tirso has been a staunch supporter of the Hispanic Association of Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (AHPSI). His alliance with the organization has proven instrumental in attracting new members and advancing its mission of promoting excellence in healthcare. Tirso’s unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions have enabled AHPSI to make significant strides in achieving its goals.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Tirso finds fulfillment in his personal life as a devoted husband to the accomplished writer Mirtha Piña. Together, they have raised three remarkable children who have all achieved academic degrees in the fields of law, banking, and business administration. Tirso’s dedication to his family has been a driving force in his pursuit of excellence, serving as an inspiration for his community and those who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
