Carlos Augusto Williams, MD.es Medical Neurologist, specialist in Vascular Neurology and sleep disorders, [American Board of Sleep medicine], graduate professor, author of 2 autobiographical books, founder of the national campaign for the prevention of accidents cerebrovascular [STROKE], in the Dominican Republic, has a license to practice Medicine & Neurology in the states of Virginia and in New York, Co-founder of the Hispanic Association of Health Professionals in New York 35 years ago, from which has contributed to promoting the labor insertion of health professionals into the US health system, founder of the television program «the hour of the Neurologist», through TV -AHPSI,your voice!! Sleep disorders can result in a variety of medical complications, some of the most common of which include:

Cardiovascular problems: Sleep disorders have been linked to an increased risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular issues.

Metabolic disorders: Sleep disorders can lead to changes in hormones such as cortisol and insulin, which can contribute to the development of metabolic disorders like obesity and diabetes.

Mood disorders: Sleep disorders have been associated with an increased risk of developing mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Cognitive impairment: Sleep disorders can affect cognitive function, including attention, memory, and decision-making, making it difficult to focus, learn, and retain information.

Increased risk of accidents: People with sleep disorders are at a higher risk of being involved in accidents due to impaired reaction time, attention, and alertness.

Weakened immune system: Sleep disorders have been associated with a weakened immune system, making it more difficult for the body to fight off infections and illnesses.

Increased pain: Sleep disorders can contribute to increased pain perception, leading to chronic pain and discomfort.

COMO LA INTELIGENCIA ARTIFICIAL PUEDE PREDECIR UN STROKE?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to predict future medical complications in a person by analyzing various data points, such as medical history, lifestyle, genetic information, and environmental factors. AI models can be trained on large datasets of medical records, including patient demographics, medical histories, and clinical outcomes, to identify patterns and make predictions about future health risks and potential complications.

USANDO ALGORITMOS

For example, AI algorithms can analyze medical images, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, to detect abnormalities and predict the likelihood of developing certain medical conditions, such as cancer or heart disease. AI can also be used to analyze electronic health records (EHRs) and other medical data to identify patients who are at higher risk of developing specific conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension.

However, it’s important to note that AI is not a perfect predictor of future medical complications. The accuracy of AI predictions depends on the quality and completeness of the data used to train the model, as well as the complexity of the medical conditions being predicted. Additionally, AI predictions are not infallible and should always be used in conjunction with the expertise of healthcare professionals.

Breves datos biográficos de nuestra invitada 

Biografía de la Dra. Leonor F. Tavárez Silverio

La Dra.Leonor, es  graduada con honores,   de un – Associate Degree in Science, de Hostos Community, en junio de 1996.

Luego, se gradúa de un -Bachelor Degree en – Behavioral Science, de Mercy College, en mayo de 2004.

También, realizó Maestría en: Educación – Mención, Orientación y Consejería, de la universidad, UNPHU-Nueva York, en agosto de 2010.

En la  Universidad UNPI, de la Florida, campus  de  Nueva York, obtuvo el título de: Doctor Of Philosophy – Christian Counseling, en octubre de 2013.

En el ano 2018, también en la Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña UNPHU-Nueva York, se graduó con el título de Magíster en: Educación, Mención, Educación Bilingüe, el 9 de enero de 2018.

MAS DETALLES:

La Dra.Tavarez,su último estudio realizado en la universidad UNPHU, fue la Maestría en Psicología Clínica, aprobada por el Consejo General de Educación y Tecnología y el Ministerio de Educación Superior,de la Republica dominicana, destacando sobre manera que la Dra.Leonor, Tavarez, se convirtió en coordinadora general de esta maestría , en la cual se graduaron  varios estudiantes de área, la mayoría en el dia de hoy están laborando en el área de salud, mental en varias ciudades de Estados Unidos.

La Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña UNPHU-Nueva York, hizo un reconocimiento especial a la Dra.leonor Tavarez, por ser la única estudiante, que cursó tres Maestrías, y se graduó con altos índices académicos, en la UNPHU-Nueva York.

La Dra.Leonor desde hace varios años es voluntaria de varias organizaciones ofreciendo sus servicios en diferentes ferias comunitarias de la salud, motivo por la cual ha sido reconocida por varios alcaldes de ciudades como Elizabeth, y Perth Amboy, en estado de New Jersey.

Es fundadora , actualmente con el rango de mayor, oficial voluntaria de la academia mundial de bomberos, en la ciudad de New York.

Boston and the state of Massachusetts have made numerous important contributions to the field of medicine throughout history. Some of the most notable contributions include:

VACUNA CONTRA LA VIRUELA EMPEZÓ EN BOSTON:

1.Smallpox Inoculation: In 1721, Boston physician Zabdiel Boylston introduced smallpox inoculation to the American colonies. This was one of the first examples of smallpox vaccination and helped to control the spread of the disease.
