The Hispanic Health Professionals Association, Inc NY, will be presenting the «Excellence in Journalism and Communication Award» to Dr. Amin C. Cruz on Saturday May 20, 2023, at the Pediatric Art Gallery 200. Dr. Cruz will be recognized for his outstanding contributions as an educator, writer, journalist, and diplomat, as well as for his leadership role in the first civic-community organization of Dominican origin. With over 51 years of experience in journalism and communication, Dr. Cruz is a renowned researcher and author of more than 15 books on various topics from history and sociological research. He holds a doctoral and master’s degrees in American and Latin American History and Journalism from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication. Additionally, he has an associate degree from Eugenio María de Hostos Community College and experience as Minister Counselor of the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations.
The Hispanic Health Professionals Association, Inc NY, is motivated to present Dr. Cruz with this award to honor his exceptional achievements in the field of journalism and communication, which have positively impacted the Hispanic community. Dr. Cruz’s work has helped to raise awareness of important issues affecting the Hispanic community, including health disparities, social justice, and cultural identity. His contributions as an educator and writer have also helped to promote cultural awareness and understanding among diverse populations. Dr. AMIN C. CRUZ, PhD., has completed doctoral and master’s degrees in American and Latin American History and Journalism at the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication. He likewise has an Associate from Eugenio María de Hostos Community College.
For years he has worked as a journalist, professor, researcher, and adviser at the University of New York at Buffalo, Boricua College, Martin Luther King, High School, Alianza Dominicana, and vice president, professor at the Dominican Reality Research Center in New York.
He is currently Minister Counselor of the Permanent Mission of the Republic

Hispanoamericano de Prensa of the city of New York, he was Director of the newspaper El Camino and the Institute of Pastoral Communications Journalism of the Archdiocese of New York, Vida Cristiana Magazine, TV Jesús and Radio Jesús.

Entre sus funciones se encuentra la de abrir y cerrar la oficina médica, así como mantener la seguridad y la confidencialidad de la información de los pacientes. Algunas tareas básicas que el asistente médico debe realizar al abrir y cerrar la oficina médica son las siguientes:
Al abrir la oficina médica:
1.Verificar la seguridad de las instalaciones: el asistente médico debe asegurarse de que todas las puertas, ventanas y sistemas de seguridad estén funcionando correctamente.
2.Preparar las áreas de trabajo: esto incluye revisar que los equipos y suministros médicos estén en su lugar, que la recepción esté ordenada y limpia, y que los espacios de espera estén listos para recibir a los pacientes.

I am writing to formally document the story of Dacanji, a significant institution that was founded in the city of Perth Amboy, New Jersey in the year 2000. Dacanji was established by a group of visionary individuals, including Ing. Franklyn Peralta, Mr. Porfirio Henriquez, Margarita Baez, Diogenes Collado, Marino Moreno [Deceased] Berenice Moreno, Marino Lopez, Victor Collado, Inosencio Peña [Manny], Diana Miranda, Ernesto Angeles, Tobias Angeles, Manuel Peralta, and Mrs. Aramboles.
Over the last 23 years, Dacanji has made a significant impact in Perth Amboy, especially in the Dominican community. The institution has been instrumental in organizing several events and programs that promote cultural and artistic activities about Dominican heritage. One of the most notable programs that Dacanji has established is the annual health fair, which has been a tremendous success, attracting more than 25,000 people.
Dr. Aritmedes Restituyo has been a key figure in the establishment of the annual health fair, which is aimed at the Dominican community in the United States. His efforts have inspired other institutions in different cities and states to organize similar programs. The health fair is not only focused on health issues but also includes a broad cultural and artistic program that showcases the richness of Dominican culture.
Furthermore, Dacanji, with the support of the Institution of the Conference on Dominican affairs, from New Jersey, and Dra. Maria Teresa Feliciano, has managed to establish a bust in honor of the founder of the Dominican Republic, General Juan Pablo Duarte, in the city of Perth Amboy.
Dacanji has had a great presence in Perth Amboy for the last 23 years, and it has made significant contributions to the community, especially in the Dominican community. The institution’s efforts to promote cultural and artistic activities have been commendable, and the annual health fair has been a tremendous success. Dr. Aritmedes Restituyo’s contributions have been pivotal in the establishment of these programs, and his efforts have inspired others to do the same.
